Children's book publisher Bonnier Publishing just received licensing rights for Barbie in the U.K. We talked  about what's in store with Perminder Mann, managing director for Autumn Publishing and Smellessence.

What does Bonnier's new Barbie licensing agreement involve?

The licence is for master publishing rights in the U.K. - this means all book formats excluding annuals and we have included formats exclusive to our Smellessence brand as well.

When teachers went on strike in Ljubljana, Slovenia recently, business daily Finance didn't let it make things difficult for its working parents: the paper set up its own child care on the premises for the day.

And it wasn't your usual child care. Finance took over two of the gyms of the Fit & Fun sports center located in the same building, and with the help of six people hired for the day, kept 26 children busy during the morning.

Meet Tony Stepanow

GROW participant Tony Stepanow from Sub in Helsinki takes advantage of the hustle and bustle of Beijing during exchange program.

For Tony Stepanow, every day is a new adventure. At least for the three months Stepanow is working in Beijing at Bonnier China as a commercializing consultant under the exchange program GROW. Normally, he spends his days as a product manager for the Finnish TV channel Sub in Helsinki, where he is responsible for product placement, program cooperations and cross-media solutions for TV shows such as Big Brother and Top Chef Finland.

New CEO for Mag+

Tablet computer publishing platform Mag+ has announced that Gregg Hano will take over as CEO starting May 7. Hano succeeds co-founder, Staffan Ekholm, who will return to Stockholm to focus on international expansion and business development.

Hano is currently senior vice president of corporate sales and the Bonnier Technology Group.

Meet Karin Porshage

From top photographers to spiders as big as her hand, GROW participant Karin Porshage is having an Australian experience she’ll never forget.

At The Five Mile Press in Australia, Swede Karin Porshage has been surrounded by colleagues who've done everything to make her feel at home, half way around the world. "People have been so wonderful and inspiring," says Porshage. She normally works for online book retailer Adlibris in Stockholm, where she works as a web editor with social media and digital books.

Stand Up for Soccer

Canal+ and the TV4 Group promote a healthy soccer fan culture.

The TV4 Group and Canal+ together with Swedish companies Swedbank, Svenska Spel and Ica have decided to work together to support positive sport fan behavior via the Föreningen Svensk Elitfotboll - SEF, the Swedish Elite Soccer Association. Over a five-year period the companies will contribute over SEK 10 million to support the Stand Up for Soccer! program.
